That should work fine as you have UEFI.

I have also put up a DebianOn page for these machines with some
preliminary (and not fully tested!) uboot booting instructions for
people with hardware that still has uboot on:

Feel free to update that page with info missing from the
debian-installer manual.

I can't test that step as the only APM machines I have access to are
remotely hosted so there is no-one to plug USB sticks into them :-)

Do please try it and write down what it needed. Then either add it to
the installer manual yourself or the wiki page above. And yes it would
be good to expand the debian-installer info a little. This really
needs to be done by someone with the machine in front on them on a desk.
