Debian on TS-221: cannot power off

Hi!

I am running Debian on my QNAP TS-221 as per [1]. The installation went
without a hitch. Thanks for the great work so far!

Unfortunately I've been unable to power off the device. As soon as I
run `poweroff` I can hear the disks spin down after some time only to
spin up immediately afterwards. I cannot not find any shutdown related
message in /var/log/messages.

I have the latest kernel and qcontrol utility from wheezy-backports
installed:

  linux-image-3.16-0.bpo.2-kirkwood 3.16.3-2~bpo70+1
  qcontrol 0.5.4-1~bpo70+1

I have tried disabling autopower, EUP and RTC with qcontrol.
Interestingly the device also immediately starts up when supplying
power.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem may be?

Regards,
Simon
