Since this box has a raid1, I can probably just rip out one disk and
attach it to another box and then chroot into the debian env. Can I
simply attach gdb to apt on the system in its current state?

But please consider this topic as frozen, and don't expect any progress
on my side soon, since my wife and I are expecting twins, and she's
currently in hospital. I will post any progress.
