Thanks  everyone for your advice.

To recap: Sheevaplug is the easy way and has lots of plus (Support, user base, easy management, freedombox reference) but it looks so overpriced right now, especially specs wise when a more capable modern card is half the price :(

I'll have a look at Cubieboard community and try to make up my mind.
