New pogoplug install problems

Hi ,
The new pogoplugV2 arrived today, all black !
model number POGO-E02
Logged in locally as root and ran killall hbwd, and then moved it while still powered up on to the
network.
Followed the directions on http://projects.doozan.com/debian/, I used gparted on the laptop to
partition the new 8GB Sandisk Ultra flash drive.
Did :-
cd /tmp
wget http://projects.doozan.com/debian/kirkwood.debian-wheezy.sh
 chmod +x
kirkwood.debian-wheezy.sh
 export PATH=$PATH:/usr/sbin:/sbin
 ./kirkwood.debian-wheezy.sh
All went well, got past the bit asking if I want to keep the pogoplug capability..no
Then the install failed as it couldn't mount sda2 or sda1

df showed no /dev/sda anything
So I tried another flash drive and used fdisk locally, but it couldn't find /dev/sda
in /tmp ls showed that everything had downloaded and was in /tmp.
Next power cyclyed and started it up on the local network , which has no access to the outside
world.
logged in as root. OK
cd /tmp and ls showed the installer had gone , which is to be expected.
ran df
Pogoplug:/proc$ df
Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mtdblock2 32768 12552 20216 38% /
none 128004 4 128000 0% /tmp

I've a flash stick in the front skt and the top on the back of it.
They are not shown :(
next step
mkdir /tmp/fred
Pogoplug:/tmp$ mount /dev/sda1 /tmp/fred
Pogoplug:/tmp$ df
Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mtdblock2 32768 12552 20216 38% /
none 128004 4 128000 0% /tmp
/dev/sda1 2015824 3000 1910424 0% /tmp/fred

That is correct as the first partition was set at 2000MB
It looks as if plugging in a USB mem stick does not auto mount.

I noticed a directory in /tmp before I power cycled as debian, do I need to manually
mount /dev/sda1 as /tmp/debian
The othe install page I found was http://mehl.co/articles/installing_debian_on_the_pogoplug/
but wget failed to find meh1.co got invalid address.
Is there any difference between the pink and grey pogoplug and the Black and clear I have, they are
the same shape/
/proc/cpuinfo shows
Pogoplug:/tmp$ cat /proc/cpuinfo
