Installation fails after "done, booting the kernel."

Hi,

I have successfully debianized a Seagate Dockstar a long time ago, and
wanted to do the same thing to two other Dockstars. I followed the
guide
at [1] but when I try to boot, the last output is always:

Marvell>> bootm 0x00800000 0x01100000
## Booting image at 00800000 ...
   Image Name: Debian kernel
   Created: 2011-03-15 3:04:25 UTC
Image Type: ARM Linux Kernel Image (uncompressed)
   Data Size: 1433576 Bytes = 1.4 MB
   Load Address: 00008000
   Entry Point: 00008000
   Verifying Checksum ... OK
OK
## Loading Ramdisk Image at 01100000 ...
   Image Name: debian-installer ramdisk
   Created: 2011-03-15 3:04:26 UTC
Image Type: ARM Linux RAMDisk Image (gzip compressed)
   Data Size: 3167658 Bytes = 3 MB
   Load Address: 00000000
   Entry Point: 00000000
   Verifying Checksum ... OK

Starting kernel ...

Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel.

Then no output occurs, the orange led is constantly lit and I have to
reset the dockstar. Caputuring ethernet traffic for a couple of
minutes
also shows no activity. The same behaviour happens on two different
dockstars, so I assume it is no hardware failure.

After a reset, the dockstar boots into uboot just fine. I can install
different uboot versions as well. Always the same problem: no more
output after "booting the kernel".

I have also tried to restore the original firmware ([2]), with almost
the same results, except that the orange led is flashing in that case.

Any thoughts?

Regards,
Thomas Herrmann
