Hi Martin,

thank you for testing.

qnap:
o Debian lenny with kernel 2.6.29-rc7-orion5x
o kernel based nfs server with /etc/exports
  "/data 192.168.253.250(rw,no_root_squash)"
o 2x 100 GB disks (HTS721010G9SA00 and ST910021AS)
1 partition on each disk with set with raid1 to /dev/md0
  1 lvm2 group on /dev/md0 with 3 logical volumes

client:

o 1GB ethernet 82540EM
o openSUSE 11.1
o "mount -t nfs -o rsize=32768,wsize=32768,noatime,tcp odin:/data/ /mnt/"
o connected via switch (avm fritzbox 7170) with 100 MBit Interfaces

maybe it is a lvm problem, because I think the most people have setup a
raid1 system.

I will try a setup without lvm, and let you now, if that was the reason.
