Dropped connections on NSLU2

i am running Debian (kernel 2.6.18-3-ixp4xx) on a Linksys NSLU2, and am having problems with dropped network connections. here are the details:

- the NSLU2 is used primarily as a file server (using SMB) and for streaming audio (via mt-daapd)
- it is connected via a wired ethernet connection to a switch
- clients connect via wired as well as wireless conections (through a DLink DI-524 router)

- clients connected via wired connections have no problems downloading data from the NSLU2
- clients connected via wireless connections can download a small amount of data from the NSLU2 before the connection is dropped
- clients are not experiencing any other problems with their wireless connections (internet browsing works fine, as does accessing other SMB shares on the network)

this problem with wireless clients connecting to the NSLU2 covers different types of connections (e.g. ssh shell connections, file browsing in Windows explorer, media streaming).

the end result is that the NSLU2 is unusable via wireless connection, but works fine when accessed via a wired connection.

i can't think what might be causing this problem. the NSLU2's network connection seems to be fine in all scenarios except when accessed via a wireless client, but those clients have no other problems with using the wireless network. one would think that the network link on the client side would be completely transparent to the NSLU2.

i'm stumped on this one, and would appreciate any suggestions for solving this problem.

thanks!
