"maintained in spirit" what's that? something esoteric? ;)
well, i don't see/know _anything_ about them, just look at
buildd.debian.org at the not compiled packages, quite a huge
chunk of them. btw. i never heard about the buildd actively doing
things and distributing mails to developers. is there another
list where people do work on debian/arm and don't post to this
mailinglist? if so, please tell me :).
i was just today confirmed that there were just 2 packages
uploaden in last weeks/months (don't know for sure but something like 
this was told me this evening).
what do you mean by "odd package done by generic debian types"?

in which way? just useing debian and putting them on some tiny
little computers? :)

*hmmmmm*, which issues? the latest security updates have a ssh
package for arm. openssh that is.
