FWIW. Compiling 2.2.0-pre6, with patches from Russel King and Philib
Blundell, while in /usr/src/linux/kernel:

   gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux-2.2.0-pre6/include  -mapcs-32 -mshort-load-bytes -mcpu=strongarm110 -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe   -fno-omit-frame-pointer -c -o sched.o sched.c
   {standard input}: Assembler messages:
   {standard input}:666: Error: Alignment too large: 15. assumed.


I will try to figure out why, but if this helps you as it stands, good
