Bug#403541: mysql driver missing - closing of #395959 was inappropriate

Package: libaprutil1
Version: 1.2.7+dfsg-2
Severity: serious

Bug #395959 was closed as follows:

Does that mean that the Debian Apache Team will not add the
apr_dbd_mysql driver? Why? INSTALL.MySQL states:

".. and there is no problem with a third party bundling the driver,
provided you respect both the ASF and GPL licenses."

So this should not be a problem.

If the dbd architecture finds wider acceptance, not adding the mysql
driver will disable mysql usage from within apache modules on debian
systems.

Sincerely,
Joachim
