Package: apache2-prefork-dev
Version: 2.0.52-3
Severity: normal

Hi there,

I am often building packages which have a build dependency on
apache2-dev. I find it is very annoying that the apache2-threaded-dev
package has a 'Provides: apache2-dev' line but apache2-prefork-dev
does not. I keep having to manually edit control files to build
modules for my apache2 prefork server. I presume this is just an
oversight and not actually intentional. It would be much appreciated
if you could add in the Provides.

Thanks,

Stephen Quinney

This is intentional. Modules built against the threaded headers will
work will all the MPMs (including prefork), but modules built against
the prefork headers might end up being non-threaded and only working
with prefork. Thus, "apache2-threaded-dev" can double as the generic
"apache2-dev", but "apache2-prefork-dev" can not.
