Bug#206529: Upgrade of apache gives duplicated logrotate entries
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Package: apache
Version: 1.3.27.1-2
If
/etc/logrotate.d/apache
is modified when an upgrade of apache is made. A apache.dpkg-dist is
created. Logrotate will run both the old
/etc/logrotate.d/apache
and the new
/etc/lograte.d/apche.dpkg-dist
Example of an upgrade:
- --
Preparing to replace apache 1.3.27.0-2 (using .../apache_1.3.27.1-2_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement apache ...
Setting up apache (1.3.27.1-2) ...
Configuration file `/etc/logrotate.d/apache'
==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation.
==> Package distributor has shipped an updated version.
What would you like to do about it ? Your options are:
Y or I : install the package maintainer's version
N or O : keep your currently-installed version
D : show the differences between the versions
Z : background this process to examine the situation
The default action is to keep your current version.
*** apache (Y/I/N/O/D/Z) [default=N] ? n
Starting web server: apache.
- -
And the result is:
- --
[/etc/logrotate.d]$ ls -l /etc/logrotate.d/apache*
- -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 179 Jul 29 2002 apache
- -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 238 Jul 15 15:17 apache.dpkg-dist
[/etc/logrotate.d]$
- --
I am using Debian GNU/Linux sid, kernel 2.4.21 and libc 2.3.2-2.
