Package: apache
Version: 1.3.26-1.1
Severity: normal

I have my Apache server configured so that /etc/apache/httpd.conf is a
subdirectory containing multiple configuration scripts. The installation
scripts fail to take this into account and don't properly install
the package.

In order to upgrade apache, I am forced to stop the Apache server and
then do something like this:

/etc/init.d/apache stop
mv /etc/apache/httpd.conf /etc/apache/httpd.conf.tmp
mv /etc/apache/httpd.conf.dummy httpd.conf
apt-get upgrade
mv /etc/apache/httpd.conf /etc/apache/httpd.conf.dummy
mv /etc/apache/httpd.conf.tmp /etc/apache/httpd.conf
/etc/init.d/apache start

Hi, this bug is invalid. It's an example of =ABI'm able to do stuff to
a package's configuration files so that it stops working.=BB. Having
/etc/apache/httpd.conf is not a supported configuration, and probably
won't ever be. (Though, we're going to redo the configuration system
into something akin to apache2's, which will make some of what you
want available).
