I haven't uSed ktorrent in quite a while.  It was much too unstable when
I tried to use it a couple of years ago so I stopped bothering.

As for your install, well 4.0 is no longer the current release and is
only getting security fixes for the next year or so and then nothing.
So no one is likely to try and fix a bug in ktorrent on it anymore.
You should probably upgrade to 5.0 instead, where ktorrent is apparently
a lot more stable now, as is the rest of kde.
