keycodes setting permanently

Hi all,

I have a little question. On my notebook is running debian-amd (sid).

Everything iys working fine, but one of my keys on the keyboard is not set. It
is the special key for the Euro-sign. The scancode is known. Every time, I
press the key, I get an error similar to this:

tkbd.c: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0xac on isa0060/serio0).
atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e02c <keycode>' to make it known.
atkbd.c: Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0xac on isa0060/serio0).
atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e02c <keycode>' to make it known.

This is already well known, I know. Most people get a for this solution with a
script at startup. I suppose, atkbd.c is the kernel module with the same
name?

My questions now:

1. Can I somehow enter the missing code into the keyboard driver, so that the
Euro-sign will be shown by pressing the required key ? I only founf GUI
related solutions.

2. If yes, is it possible to add the scancode into the kernel module by the
maintainer, so that it will be working in the next version of the kernel.

3. If the kernel-module cannot be changed by the mainatainer, how can I
change/add the code myself ?

Excuse me, this is not quite amd64-related, but I can only test this with a
64-bit system.

Kind regards and thanks for any hints.

Hans
