unable to install etch on amd

Hello all,

I have a hp nx6125 noteboot that simply refuses to accept etch. I
have downloaded the first installation cd of etch. After the
prompt, either i press enter or type "expert", the kernel starts
booting and then hangs after showing a few lines.

I think this problem is related to the configuration of the linux
kernel 2.6.18-4. I had made a post some time ago that i didn't
find any solution to it:
