Did you enable the 'Serial-ATA BOOTROM' option when you set it to AHCI mode? It
needs that to boot in AHCI mode. Since AHCI isn't ide compatible,
the bios needs to treat it as an add in controller with it's own bootrom,
which means that has to be enabled.
