Given the number of very fast mirrors debian has for http and ftp, jigdo
is actually a rather efficient method. And it supports updating one cd
revision to the next (within the same release of course) with very
minimal downloading. bittorrent can't do that.

I would say iso's in general are actually not that popular on debian
given the netinstall is actually easier, takes much less time and a lot
less downloading. The iso's only make sense for people installing on a
machine that does not have an internet connection.
