different software depends on different versions of autoconf/automake. If you
do

you see that you need either automake1.6 or automake1.7. HOWEVER, if you are
creating a project that builds libraries, you'll probably also need to have
libtool installed.
The reason libtool is not a dependency of kdevelop is that you don't *have* to
create libraries in your project. But if you do, you'll likely want to
install libtool.
