Mixing stable/testing/unstable has to always work. The depends and
conflicts of packages have to guard against mixtures that don't work
but sometimes maintainers forget to set them right or just don't know
about it. Thats where you have to help. If you find anything that
breaks report it as a bug.

You can always upgrade all packages to the highest dist you used in
the mixture.
Or downgrade, but if that fails that isn't even a bug, so thats a
risk.
