wacom tablet on amd64
hi guys,
i'm trying to get wacom graphire3 working on my amd64 box (2.6.11
kernel, testing, no udev). i followed the howto at the linux wacom page
- installed necessary applications and compiled kernel modules with
apt-get. since i don't use udev, i just skipped that section in the
howto and rebooted the machine. now, i have:
/lib/modules/2.6.8-10-amd64-k8/kernel/drivers/usb/input/wacom.ko
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/input/wacom_drv.o
when i plug the tablet into the usb port, i get:
usb2-1: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 4
usbhid: probe of 2-1:1.0 failed with error -5
wacom: version magic '2.6.11 gcc-4.0' should be '2.6.11 gcc-3.3'
what's going on here? also i found strange that wacom.ko is in directory
with "wrong" path - why is there '2.6.8-10-amd64-k8'?
also, it seems that the module tries to be loaded during boot with the
same error message. i wasn't able to locate the command that forces this
in /etc - can someone point me to the respective file/command?
thanks in advance for help. regards,
