No, unfortunately we're still stuck with JDK 1.4.x to run Eclipse. Note that as it's been pointed out at https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=71987#c57 , you can still use Eclipse to develop Java 5 code even when running under a version 1.4 VM. I suggest you add yourself to the bug's cc list in the above link to stay up to date with the changes. By the way, don't waste your time trying the different workarounds people suggested, none of them work in the end (most of them are suggesting the same old trick anyway).
