Hello list, as you might have read in the last DWN[1] or in the summary[2] of the debian-amd64 port IRC meeting, the debian-amd64 archive is going to relocate from Alioth to Ivanova, a new server in Europe. The move will take place the next weekend, starting Friday April 29th and ending presumably on Monday, may 2nd. During this period, no package version updates will take place. The schedule in detail: till Fri - minor shutdowns of cron as we test things, Alioth will be slow Fri. 17:00 utc - cronjobs updating the archive on Alioth get stopped - last sync to new host (Ivanova) Fri - Sat - import into DAK (package database) on Ivanova - update scripts for DAK gets tested Sat or Sun - wanna-build gets turned on Sun - buildds start compiling updated packages and upload to the new host Mon - if all works, the debian-amd64.alioth.debian.org DNS record is pointed to the new host. As soon as the DNS update has spread, everything should work as intended again. We will post additional instructions for mirror admins on what changed when things have worked out. Kind regards Frederik Schueler [1] http://www.debian.org/News/weekly/2005/17/ [2] http://debian-amd64.alioth.debian.org/irc-summary.txt -- ENOSIG
