Hi Jonathan, I'm crossposting to the list as you only sent your reply to me. I saw both but thought that replying to one would be enough, sorry :) > Here, it's definitely /libc6_2.3.2.ds1-20.0.0.3.gcc4_amd64.deb Hmm... I'm using .2.gcc4 here. In fact, if I recall correctly .2.gcc4 was re-uploaded to the repository (I presume recompiled as well). I think I'm using the earlier copy. Unfortunately it didn't survive a recent apt-get clean, so I can't make it available for someone to test, but somebody might still have a copy in his or her /var/cache/apt dir. It could as well be a problem with dpkg's compilation, however, I'm presumably using the same version as both of you and not seeing the problem. > Hmmm. Looks like some sort of buffer overrun to me. Could be, but also certain compilation options might cause GDB to not be able to find the bottom frame. I'm sure I saw that happening to a perfectly behaving program of mine recently. > I have tried to recompile dpkg, but when I run "configure" it stops with > a message: "checking size of unsigned long... configure: error: cannot > compute sizeof (unsigned long), 77" Checking config.log out might be able to shine some light there.
