Hi i've just create an account and this is the first mail i received.
I'm new in Linux World so my advices may be unuseful.
But it seems you have no font installed.
Maybe you can try 

$ apt-get install xfonts-base

or 

$ apt-get install xserver-common

Tell me if it helps
