Hmmm, this happened to me as well, but only with a couple packages (like cpp). I just installed them by hand. I'm not an expert, but does the installation of the equivalent pure64 packages constitute a "downgrade" for these packages, or are the versions identical? Perhaps what is happening is that the identical version is not available in pure64, and apt refuses to downgrade. Again, I am not an expert... -Ted
