Hi Ned,
No, I ended up giving it away as a lost cause and instead I've now got a
Radeon 9200SE which works like an absolute dream.
I believe it's not the fastest card in the world, but I don't need that,
I just need XFree working!
I never went down the path of trying to get drivers from Via etc. as I
didn't want to mess with the standard Debian packaging.
The Radeon's supported in both XFree86 and Xorg, so I'm happy with that.
