I have lvm2 > 2.00.15-2 installed here. Vanilla 2.6.6 appears to have the really ugly get-it-working patch that was posted to LKML in the 2.6.4 timeframe incorporated. It works with a 32-bit userspace and 64-bit kernel, without additional patches.
