You are probably the first person to try running this kernel on a real
machine and it currently dies on Bochs as well. If you find out what
the problem is and make the package work, I'll build the packages
again.

If you build the kernel manually, you have to set CC='gcc -m64', either
on the 'make bzImage' command or by editing the top level Makefile.
