Here's another FAQ-for-the-searchers posting. Apparently, you need this software 'irqbalance', otherwise all your interrupts will be serviced by CPU0 on amd64 (and other platforms, perhaps?). But it isn't packaged in Debian. http://people.redhat.com/arjanv/irqbalance/ -jwb
