Re: DHCP doesn't work with 3.1 installation on Alpha

My apologies for the delayed response.  I didn't have time to pick  
this up again until yesterday.

After further investigation, I now see that eth0 comes up nicely  
about 1 time in 10.  Simply doing "/etc/init.d/networking restart"  
repeatedly seems to get it working eventually.  I suspect I'm having  
an autonegotiation problem that doesn't happen when booting from CD.   
It seems to only happen on a "live" system.

I'm on a DS10L and changed "ewa0_mode" from Twisted-Pair to FastFD at  
the SRM console.  (i guess this means i was on 10baseT before?   
yikes.)  I still have the same problem.  I'm going to try different  
switches and will also dive into the manpage for "interfaces" to see  
if autonegotiation comes up there.

I'm certainly willing to try etch too.
