Hi all, i'm here again :-)

Now i've installed the 2.6.8-2 kernel with synaptic on my Sarge-Alphastation
500/333. But what must i do that this kernel boots?
The Links in / (vmlinuz and intrd.img) points to /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.8-2-generic
and /boot/initrd.img-2.6.8-2-generic. The entries in /etc/aboot.conf seems
to be correct, so i should boot with "0" the new kernel (vmlinuz) and with "1"
the old 2.4.27-2 (vmlinuz.old) kernel. But if i choose at the bootprompt "0"
always boots the old kernel. :-(

The links in /boot not in / must be correct. The links in / are useless on alpha because aboot mounts /boot as initial root on alpha.

What exact must i do here?
Thanks for answers in advance.
