Yes, that appears likely to work as well, though I really HATE having
to turn on an option I DO NOT NEED, just to get it to build!!!

Hmmm; I thought there were problems beyond GCC 3.2.x... ???

I suspect one might not need the HOTPLUG if one were to build as a module.
