temperatur on i2c

Dear list

As it seems there is no temperature monitoring under Linux for alphas. I 
found a VMS page mentionning how to monitor temperatur. It includes some 
sample code. Is there someone who would like to have a short look at the 
page

to tell if it could be used for temperature monitoring on linux?
