Antwort: Root raid with dac960

Hi,

I've the same problem with my Alpha Serv 1000A.
The controller is not know by the bios, I think.

The only way I've found is  to boot with floppy (my way) or thru a normal SCSI disk.

Ciao

Hi,

Was wondering if anyone out there has managed to get their AS4000 to boot
of the dac960 raid controller ie root=/dev/rd/c0d0p1

I've complied the stock 2.4.18 kernel with dac960 support but the kernel
panics with no root device.
booting off sda1 with the same kernel i can mount the raid device so i know
the kernel works.

Any tips would be most appreciated

Cheers
Rick
