Rebooting Multia and aboot

I have Debian 3.0 installed on a Multia and was wondering if there is a special trick to rebooting cleanly.

Right now, in SRM, I have the Multia set to autoboot on powerup from /dev/sda2 (/), and everything works fine.  The problem occurs when I go to reboot.  The system shuts down cleanly, then the screen reverts to the original bootup screen, with aboot (boot: ) messages.  If I sit and watch, there are messages scrolling in a one line window at the bottom of the screen (can't see what it is saying, though).

What/where do I make changes to allow a reboot?
