Optimizing Alpha

Hello,

I'm using debian woody on Miata au433 since about one year.

Here is my complete configuration:
===
$> cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.4.16 (gcc version 2.95.4 20011006 (Debian prerelease)) #5 Thu
Feb 21 11:25:22 CET 2002

$> cat /proc/cpuinfo

$> cat /proc/meminfo

Because I found my machine very slow, I ran the unixbench benchmark
(http://www.tux.org/pub/tux/niemi/unixbench/) to test this assumption.

This program gives a score for every machine. The problem is the my score
(30.8) is lower than an alpha 266Mhz with the 128Mb memory !?

So, my question is: How do you have optimized your alpha machine with debian
linux ? Is there some optimization flags to put in the kernel ? Does I have
to change my gcc version ?

Thanks for your help,
Laurent.
