Yet another video card question... :) ATI or Matrox for DRI?
Hello everybody :)
I hope not to be boring with another video card question!
First, forgive my bad bad english... :)
I am running Alpha PWS 500a with a Matrox G450 PCI.
Finally I've managed to recompile XFree with the beta drivers from
matrox
site and the card works properly.
It runs fast at 2d with clear graphics and full rate video play.
It doesn't run any kind of 3d acceleration because of DRI driver
limitation in current kernel which requires agpgart working.
Now I've got the opportunity to buy an ATI all-in-wonder Radeon SDR PCI
for a really expensive price considering this card is getting obsolete.
I'd like to know if DRI support is good even with the PCI version.
I can see with "make xconfig" that kernel requires agpgart selected to
compile the radeon dri while the context help states the support is done
for both version.
If there are any users of ati radeon, is its quality good as matrox as
graphics and video?
Thanks a lot :)
gl
PS: Please help me... I'm getting crazy! :)
