Re: clean woody install on alpha

Hear's my setup

/etc/inetd.conf
tftp    dgram   udp     wait    root    /usr/sbin/tcpd  in.tftpd
bootps  dgram   udp     wait    root    /usr/sbin/tcpd  bootpd -d 4

/etc/bootptab
alpha:hd=/tftpboot:bf=tftpboot.img:ht=ether:ha=xxxxxxxx33f6:sm=255.255.255.0:hn:ip=xxx.xx.xx.9:vm=rfc1048

ls /tftpboot
tftpboot.img
^^^^^ Debian boot image

At the srm console

>>show dev
note the hardware address for ewa0
placeit in the bootptab file ha=????


>> boot ewa0

The above works fine for me but the kernel promptly hangs on my
AS 4000
