FWIW, I just applied this patch on my AlphaStation 255/233, which has
been giving me random hangs under X. It certainly breaks xdm (it barfs
with lots of entries of
X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont)
Serial number of failed request: 29
Current serial number in output stream: 30
in /var/log/xdm.log) and some other X apps aren't looking right either.
