If needed, we can rename and recompile the slink source (if it's the only
version that still compiles) as pdl-alpha, much like we've done with
binutils et.al. in the past (and have it provide pdl, etc). That would
allow us to keep the current potato version for other archs that it works
on and still have an alpha version with source...
