I just emailed Branden with some more info. Basically, the DRI stuff in
his source package needs to be updated since, even at the config level,
DRI is not enabled for AlphaArchitectur (CVS has this fixed, though). I
don't want to just enable it since there may be more fixes than just what
I've found so far (I'd hate to attempt another multi-hour recompilation
just to have something else broken).
At any rate, I'll be waiting for his responce and also for him to update
the source package before further attempts.
