Hi all...
Well, some of my patches WEREN'T incorporated into the upstream PostgreSQL
6.5 release tarball after all :-( After helping a RH6.0 user compile it,
I asked him to run the regression tests and forward the results to me. He
actually ran it on two machines (EB164 and PC164) with favourable results.
So far, I've only analysed some of the failures, but from what I can tell,
this release looks GOOD for Alpha (and I mean GOOD). In fact, one of the
integer tests that passed on Alpha Linux was one that had failed before
under DEC OSF :-) Also, the regressions that failed for us are mostly
stuff that's broken across several (if not all) platforms.
I'm expecting the new source package from the postgresql maintainer
sometime this weekend. After that, I'll go ahead and compile it in a
hurry and upload it.
