FW: Which nic module for Dec AlphaServer 1000 nic?

You're right: the AlphaServer 1000/4 does have a Dec card - /proc/pci shows
"Ethernet controller: DEC Unknown device (revision 35)"

I couldn't find tulip.o or de4x5.o on the Debian 2.1 Alpha cd (or on my hard
drive). Where do these modules reside? Can I get download them from
ftp.debian.org? In my /lib/modules/2.0.36/net directory, I only see
3c503.o, 3c59cx.0, dummy.o, new_tunnel.o, slip.o, 3c509.o, bsd_comp.o, ne.o,
and plip.o

I'm guessing it's probably one of the DEC cards. In that case,
you may try de4x5 as the module. Tulip should also work, but I
always have better luck with the de4x5 module.

You can check /proc/pci to see what devices are listed, that should
help you find out what NIC you have.
