Ouch. Perhaps that libc6.1 is compiled for some exotic Alpha CPU?
What system do you have?

Hmm, boot from the rescue & root floppies, mount your root fs, and copy
the libc over from the floppy?

That reminds me, how are we going to work with libc6 and boot floppies?
Currently libc6 is many times larger than a floppy, if my understanding
is correct...
