stty and termcap
I have been following this list and running Debian Alpha with few problems
since July. I'd like to help out with the port, but school sucks away all
my time. Plus, I'm not sure I have the knowledge necessary.
Anyhow, I am suffering from the problem of what appears to be characters
being buffered by four characters or so when using libncurses. This
only manifests itself with programs I compile (eg. pine. The pine on
Chris Chimelis' web site works, but I need kerberos support that has
been made in a patch here at cmu). I made a wrapper script that does the
"stty eof "^a"" and that works fine. I want to know though if there is a
better fix (changing libraries, etc...) I am using the latest potato as
of about a week ago.
ls -l /usr/lib/libncurs* looks like this:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 364910 Dec 10 10:05
/usr/lib/libncurses++.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 725300 Dec 10 10:05
/usr/lib/libncurses.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 Jan 22 19:14
/usr/lib/libncurses.so -> /lib/libncurses.so.4
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2947432 Dec 10 10:04
/usr/lib/libncurses_g.a
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 788220 Dec 10 10:05
/usr/lib/libncurses_p.a
and ls -l /lib/libncurs* looks like this:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 388944 Nov 9 17:54
/lib/libncurses.so.3.4
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 17 Jan 22 19:15
/lib/libncurses.so.4 -> libncurses.so.4.2
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 396800 Dec 10 10:05
/lib/libncurses.so.4.2
