Booting AS 1000A 5/xxx with 99/02/05 disks
Dear members os the list,
I have an Alpha Server 1000A 5/400 (NORITAKE-PRIMO) and I am trying to
install Debian on it. I am using the files generated on 99/02/05 that I
got from http://lhpca.univ-lyon1.fr/axp/debian.html .
During the boot with the rescue disk and the comand
boot dva0 -file linux -flags "root=/dev/fd0 rw
ramdisk_size=5120 load_ramdisk=1 prompt_ramdisk=1
on SRM I receive some messages like this:
=================================================
Missing address mark
IDE command not successfully terminated
=================================================
And when the system is trying to start the kernel it
halted. Below is the output:
=================================================
Missing address mark
IDE command not successfully terminated
aboot: no disklabel found.
aboot: booted_dev=`dva 0 1000 0 0 0 0 0' , guessing boot_device=`fd0'
aboot: loading plain linux...
aboot: unexpected object file format 137635
aboot: loading compressed linux...
aboot: ok, now starting the kernel...
halted CPU 0
halt code = 7
machine check while in PAL mode
PC = 18ad8
boot failure
=================================================
Can you help me to solve this problem ?
Thanks a lot.
ear.
