XEmacs

Hi,

This weekend I've been trying to compile xemacs. Apparently, RedHat
has it working. I found the patch from a SRPM and applied it here; it
made it go a LOT further before crashing, but is still did:

Loading site-load...
Loading debian-load...
Finding pointers to doc strings (in DOC-mule-canna-wnn)...
Finding pointers to doc strings...done
Dumping under the name xemacs
Purespace usage: 1296600 of 1297112 (100%).

XEmacs: Couldn't find segment next to .bss in /home/jgoerzen/t/xemacs20-20.4/src/temacs

make[3]: [xemacs] Error 1 (ignored)
/bin/sh: ./xemacs: Permission denied
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/jgoerzen/t/xemacs20-20.4/src'
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/jgoerzen/t/xemacs20-20.4/src'
MAKE='make' sh /home/jgoerzen/t/xemacs20-20.4/lib-src/update-elc.sh
 (using ./src/xemacs)
Recompiling in /home/jgoerzen/t/xemacs20-20.4
          with /home/jgoerzen/t/xemacs20-20.4/src/xemacs...
/home/jgoerzen/t/xemacs20-20.4/lib-src/update-elc.sh: ./src/xemacs: Permission denied
make[1]: *** [all-elc] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jgoerzen/t/xemacs20-20.4'
make: *** [canna-wnn-build] Error 2

So I'm left wondering why RedHat got it working but we can't.

Thanks,

John
