Trying to upgrade a frozen to frozen

There happens to be an incompatibility between the previous libc, still
used on the installation disks (until I make a new set), and the new
executables generated by our current egcs, this is related to the issue
discussed under the egcs and glibc thread.

Actually it looks like it made gunzip unsuable on your machine.

Hopefully a solution should come soon,
